Part Two (1 hour, 22 minutes)

In the second part Dr. Bell discussed genetic disorders affecting the West Highland White Terrier, with updates from his recent conversations with pertinent researchers. He also discussed our health surveys in relation to what is seen in the field, different types of genetic tests, their availability, and their proper use. He also presented breeding recommendations for managing different types of genetic disorders. Dr. Bell is a Clinical Associate Professor of Genetics at the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine.
